God's Healing Plan for your Life!

First of all, all views on this blog are my own, and I am only relating things that have helped me. It is not intended to be medical advice or to replace medical advice.

I have been through a huge amount of pain in my life. Physical, mental, and spiritual. And suffered with hypothyroidism, IBS, severe depression, rheumatoid arthritis, and stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, that had spread to the head, liver, and both lungs. There have been a lot of other illnesses, beginning at birth. And for most of my life, I tried to just not think about, or do much about, my illnesses, preferring to bury myself in work or creative hobbies. What I have discovered is that ignoring an illness does not make it go away anymore than complaining about it does. Our society has gotten used to, and wants, a quick fix. A pill to take, surgery, etc. to fix a problem. Most medical approaches attempt to help a symptom, for example, giving a pill to replace thyroid hormone, instead of attempting to find out what caused your thyroid to fail, and correcting the root cause. Or pain melds for a backache instead of recommending a chiropractor or exercise.

The fact is, to be truly healed, it takes a lot of time, energy, and usually money! Because you can't simply help the synptoms of one thing. In order to be truly healed, you must heal your mind, body, and soul. And healing everything it's much easier if you first make peace with God and use His help!

I have experienced both healing and despair from conventional doctors, alternative doctors, as well as spiritual healers. For there are 'bad ones' among all three that are more interested in money than in healing you.  While it's true that anyone who spends their time and energy trying to help you should be reciprocated in order to buy food, pay their bills etc. if money is the primary motivation it's best to find someone else who genuinely cares about  your help and well-being.

Most people focus on one area in their life to work on for healing, which is only a partial solution and therefore incorrect. You cannot just exercise and be totally healthy. Likewise you cannot have only a healthy diet and be healthy.  You cannot expect God to heal you instantly, although He can, and go on living the same life you lead before.

What I have found is that you must first heal your connection with God and your relationship with Him. You must eat healthy food the way God intended in the garden of Eden. You must also  exercise your body and your mind in order to be truly healthy.  You have to explore emotional issues that may have caused great pain and lead to your disease in the first place. All of this takes work and I will share with you what I have done that I have found to be helpful in my life. For I have experienced divine healing  in my physical body, healing through healthier eating and supplements, and healing through exercise, forgiveness, gratitude, and love. Of course I've had healing through conventional doctors as well.

As of this point in time I still have cancer in the bones but my tumor marker is very low. I still have thyroid issues and I'm experiencing a lot of pain at the moment from a root canal removal gone bad. But I am happier and feel healthier and I have in decades.

  1. Food is definitely one of the keys. Our food has been getting further and further away from creation. Healthy, locally grown food is what was intended for us. All the rest of your points are necessary as well and apply to the health of our planet as well as our selves.

    1. So true Doug! And I noticed that both local grocery stores and big ones like Whole Foods and Central Market seem to have less and less organic food! You would think that by now there would be more, not less! I wonder if the Farmers markets, which are great, cause less to be sold to big retail? Best to grow your own and connect with nature of course! I finally found a goat-proof spot I think!

    2. We plan to grow as much of our own as we can and are also involved in getting a garden started at out church. Most of the produce will be donated to a local food bank from that one.

As to stores. We get a lot at Natural Grocers. They still only have organic produce.

If we couldn't grow our own, we would join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). I don't think the Farmers Markets have much impact on the really large corporations where they can use pricing to attract more customers. We use the Farmers Market to get the things we don't grow in the summer. We do try to find out what specific organic methods they are using -- get to know your food source.
